Overview

This region of 63 employees provides a variety of specialized probation and parole services for the greater Albuquerque metropolitan area. The region includes the Los Lunas district and seven Albuquerque districts (Standard Supervision).

The Drug Court district supervises approximately 150 drug-involved offenders who are typically having their first encounter with the criminal justice system. It is the strategy of Drug Court to provide a stepped-up level of supervision and treatment to reduce the likelihood of recidivism.

The Intensive Supervision districts provide very close supervision to the region’s most dangerous criminals. The districts’ objective is to minimize the risk to the community by closely monitoring these cases while requiring extensive counseling and treatment.

The Special Operations district supervises higher-ranking gang members. The district also provides a variety of investigative services, including the searching and apprehension of the region’s fugitives.

The Los Lunas District supervises approximately 550 offenders on parole or probation who live in Valencia County. La Entrada, a residential program for women who have a drug and/or mental health issue, is under the supervision of this district.
